Back in 'the day', composing partner and bandmate John Borus and I wrote a version of her 'Look What They've Done To My Song Ma'.
It might have actually been one of the numbers we had the balls to play at a wedding at the VFW.
Years later, I was playing a cool little joint out on Cape Cod. Melanie was booked the following night but I couldn't stay. I wrote out the lyric along with a note and asked the manager to give it to her.
I don't know if it ever got to her or if she ever played it.
